Israeli Police Uncover Homemade Drug Packaging Operation in Petah Tikva
Israeli police detectives from the Crime Fighting Unit in Petah Tikva uncovered a makeshift drug packaging and distribution operation in a residential apartment in the city on Sunday. The search, assisted by a police dog named Sky, revealed hundreds of candy-like packages containing approximately 12 kilograms of suspected cannabis. All seized materials were transferred to the police forensic laboratories for further analysis. Two suspects, a couple in their twenties from Petah Tikva, were arrested and are expected to be brought before the court to extend their detention as the investigation continues.
Separately, over the past weekend, police raided the home of a man in his thirties from Efrat on suspicion of drug trafficking among youth. The search, conducted under a court order, uncovered more than 3.5 kilograms of cannabis, additional suspected drugs, drug manufacturing equipment, and numerous cereal boxes filled with drugs. Authorities also found extensive lists of dozens of customers, including minors, and evidence of a distribution network using registered mail to ship drugs to various cities across Israel. The suspect was arrested and taken for interrogation at the police station.
