Israeli Police Arrest Man in Efrat for Large Cannabis and Drug Possession Hidden in Cereal Boxes

During a police operation on Friday night, detectives from the Etzion station in the Judea and Samaria district conducted a search of a man in his 30s living in Efrat. Acting on a court order amid suspicions of drug trafficking among youth in the area and across Israel, officers seized over 3.5 kilograms of cannabis along with other suspected drugs, drug manufacturing tools, and additional materials intended for distribution. The drugs were cleverly concealed inside numerous cereal boxes, including cannabis hidden within a box of pillows cereal.

The investigation also uncovered extensive lists of dozens of customers, including minors, and a distribution network that used registered mail to ship drugs to various cities nationwide. The suspect was arrested and taken for questioning at the Etzion police station. The seized substances were transferred to the Israeli police laboratories for analysis. Following the interrogation, the suspect was detained and is expected to appear in court later for a remand extension hearing.

Police stated that the summer vacation period has prompted increased youth unit activity in the Judea and Samaria district and throughout Israel. This enhanced enforcement aims to prevent and reduce criminal offenses and improve the safety of young people during this time. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
