Israeli Police Uncover Cannabis Hidden in Cereal Boxes During Youth Crime Crackdown
As part of increased police efforts during the summer vacation to prevent youth crime, officers from the Etzion station in the Judea district uncovered a drug trafficking operation involving cannabis hidden in cereal boxes. The investigation targeted a man in his 30s from a settlement in the Gush Etzion bloc suspected of distributing drugs to teenagers across various locations in Israel.
During a court-authorized search of the suspect's home, police seized over 3.5 kilograms of cannabis, additional suspected narcotics, drug manufacturing equipment, and extensive client lists including many minors. The suspect reportedly used registered mail to ship drugs to multiple cities nationwide.
The suspect was taken for interrogation at the Etzion station, and the seized substances were sent to the Israeli police laboratories for analysis. Following the investigation, the man was detained and is expected to appear in court for an extension of his remand. The police continue to investigate the case.
