Israel's Nature Reserves Welcome 160,000 Visitors During Holidays
Approximately 160,000 people visited Israel's nature reserves and national parks during the recent three-day holiday period, according to the Israel Nature and Parks Authority. This figure is comparable to the number of visitors during the same holidays last year. Popular destinations included Caesarea, Achziv Beach, Tal Forest, Ma'ayan Harod, HaShlosha (Sachne) Park, Yarkon (Tel Afek) National Park, Tel Ashkelon, Ein Hemed, and the Dor-Habonim coastal nature reserve. Visitors showed interest in both historical sites and natural landscapes with water features.
The Authority also noted a significant increase in camping interest, with around 4,000 people staying overnight at designated campsites. This represents more than a threefold increase compared to the previous year. The most sought-after overnight locations were Achziv Beach, Ma'ayan Harod, Tal Forest, and Beerot Camp in Makhtesh Ramon.
