160,000 Visitors Flock to Israel's Nature Reserves and Parks During Holiday
Approximately 160,000 people visited Israel's nature reserves and national parks during the recent holiday period, according to the Nature and Parks Authority. These figures are consistent with visitor numbers from the previous year's holiday.
The most popular destinations included Caesarea, the coastal beaches of Akhziv and Dor-Habonim, water parks and complexes at Hursat Tal, Ma'ayan Harod, and the national park at Sachne (Gan Hashlosh), as well as Yarkon Gardens (Tel Afek), Ein Hemed, and Tel Ashkelon.
Camping also saw a significant surge, with around 4,000 people spending the night in designated camping sites managed by the authority. This number represents a record high, more than tripling the number of campers from the previous holiday.
The most frequented camping sites were located at Akhziv beach, Ma'ayan Harod, Hursat Tal, and Khan Barut in Mitzpe Ramon.
