Kushner: US Leveraged Failed Israel Strike in Doha to Push Hamas Deal
Jared Kushner, former President Trump's son-in-law and envoy, stated Sunday that the U.S. leveraged the failed Israeli military operation targeting Hamas leaders in Doha, Qatar, to pressure for a deal with the organization. Speaking in an interview with "Clash Report," Kushner described the Israeli strike as "terrible" and a "failed military operation" that led to Israel's international isolation.
Kushner asserted that the U.S. administration observed Israel's "political weakness" following the incident and exploited it to push for an agreement. "We used this situation to pressure them to reach an agreement," he said, acknowledging that Israeli leadership was uncomfortable with the U.S. pressure at the time.
Despite the initial Israeli discomfort, Kushner believes the outcome was beneficial for all parties. He stated, "Ultimately, it turned out to be a great move for them (Israel), and they are very happy about it today." He also noted that the agreement benefited the people of Gaza, though Israeli killings in the Gaza Strip have intensified since the Doha operation.
