Kushner: Israel's Doha Strike Isolated Nation, Aiding Gaza Deal
Former White House advisor Jared Kushner stated that the United States leveraged Israel's increased international isolation following a strike on Hamas leadership in Doha to push for a Gaza Strip agreement. Speaking via video link at the Yalta European Strategy forum in Kyiv, Kushner described the Israeli operation in Doha as "terrible" and a "failed military operation."
He explained that this strike led to Israel's subsequent international isolation, a situation the U.S. utilized to encourage Israel towards a deal that he believes has ultimately satisfied both Israel and the residents of Gaza.
The incident referenced by Kushner occurred in September 2025 when Israel targeted Hamas leaders in Qatar's capital. However, the intended targets were not eliminated during the operation.
Kushner made these remarks during the Yalta European Strategy forum, which took place in Kyiv on September 11-12. The Times of Israel reported on his statements on September 13.
