Bnei Sakhnin Signs Ghanaian Right-Back Leeroy Owusu
Israeli football club Bnei Sakhnin has reached an agreement with Ghanaian right-back Leeroy Owusu, who has landed in Israel and is expected to officially sign with the team. Owusu, valued at approximately one million euros by Transfermarkt, previously played for Odense in the Danish league. He also had stints with De Graafschap and Almere City in the Netherlands, accumulating 99 appearances in the Dutch top division.
Owusu, who can play as both a right-back and a right-sided midfielder, is a free agent. Last season, he scored four goals and provided two assists in 32 matches for Odense. During that season, he also served as captain for the team, which was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Danish Cup.
Owusu developed in the Ajax youth academy. The signing is a significant move for Bnei Sakhnin, managed by Yossi Abukasis, as they strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
