Bnei Sakhnin Pursues Defender Hassan Hilu and Plans Foreign Signing for Next Season
Bnei Sakhnin is actively strengthening its squad ahead of the upcoming season, having already signed three foreign players: Norberto Carlos, Modestas Vorobjovas, and Sana Gomes, who is expected to join training soon. The club also brought back Iyad Abu Abid after his half-season loan at Bnei Reineh and added Niv Livnat to deepen the roster.
In addition to these moves, Bnei Sakhnin has submitted an offer to defender Hassan Hilu, who currently plays for Japan's JEF United Ichihara Chiba and is also a target for Maccabi Netanya. The club believes Hilu's status as a homegrown player will work in their favor during negotiations. Head coach Yossi Abukasis typically employs a three-center-back formation, with current defenders Maron Gentos, Abu Abid, and youth promotion Ali Ganama already signed.
Beyond Hilu, Bnei Sakhnin aims to recruit another foreign center-back to bolster their defense. The club continues talks with several other players as it prepares for the new season.
