Bnei Sakhnin Seeks Israeli Players Amid Squad Challenges Ahead of Season

With just 11 days remaining before the Israeli Premier League season opener against Maccabi Netanya, Bnei Sakhnin is still struggling to finalize its squad for the upcoming season. The club has been actively trying to strengthen its roster, aiming to sign three Israeli players before the transfer window closes. Recently, club officials engaged in talks with Matan Hozez, who recently ended his tenure with Hapoel Jerusalem and is also sought after by M.S. Ashdod from the National League. However, Sakhnin suspects Hozez is delaying a decision while waiting for other offers and after a further approach, he declined their offer for now, as Sakhnin is not his first choice.

Additionally, the club reached out to midfielder Micha Ohana, who left Maccabi Haifa, but he also declined to join Sakhnin at this stage. The club's management is working to accelerate preparations, but faces a complication as they have only one foreign player slot available and are prioritizing signing a striker. Despite these challenges, the club remains focused on adding three Israeli players to the squad before the transfer window closes.
