Bnei Sakhnin Pursues Israeli Players Chozaz and Ohana, Both Decline Offers

With just 11 days remaining before the Israeli Premier League season opener against Maccabi Netanya, Bnei Sakhnin is still struggling to finalize its squad for the upcoming season. The club has been actively seeking to strengthen its roster, aiming to sign three Israeli players before the transfer window closes.

In recent weeks, Sakhnin's management engaged in negotiations with Matan Chozaz, who recently ended his tenure at Hapoel Jerusalem and is also sought after by M.S. Ashdod from the National League. However, the club suspects Chozaz is delaying a decision while awaiting other offers, and after a further approach, he declined to join Sakhnin for now.

Sakhnin also reached out to midfielder Micha Ohana, who left Maccabi Haifa, but he too refused the club's offer at this stage. The club's management plans to accelerate preparations, facing the challenge that they have only one foreign player slot available and are prioritizing signing a striker. Their broader goal remains to add three Israeli players to the squad before the window closes.
