Singer Pink Defends Jewish Identity, Criticizes Macklemore Over Israel Stance

Pop star Pink posted a strong statement on social media ahead of Rosh Hashanah, directly addressing rapper Macklemore and her critics. She condemned Macklemore's recent performance alongside Ed Sheeran, where he displayed war images and addressed Jewish attendees, stating the messages were not directed at them. Pink countered, "You can't decide that for us," and referenced a past incident where Macklemore wore an antisemitic costume. She declared, "It turns out this love has a guest list, and we are not on it."

Pink also spoke out against the online hate she has received regarding her identity. "I was born Jewish, I have never hidden it," she stated, adding, "I have defended other nations throughout my career, and now I stand by my people. I knew it would be lonely, but it is even lonelier than I thought."

She clarified that she does not represent Israel or any government, reiterating her stance that Hamas is a terrorist organization. Pink affirmed that Palestinians deserve a future that respects their humanity and aspirations, and that protecting innocents is paramount. As a Jewish mother, she asserted her right to be concerned without being accused of supporting genocide.
