Arab Parties Sign Vote Surplus Deal, Pledge Fair Campaign

The Joint List and the Unified List, two Arab political factions, have signed an agreement to share surplus votes in an upcoming election and pledged to conduct a clean and fair campaign. The deal was finalized by Yahya Dahamsha, representing the Unified List, and Amjad Shabita, representing the Joint List, at the home of writer Mohammed Ali Taha, head of the Accord Committee. The agreement aims to increase voter turnout and oppose the "fascist right-wing government," while fostering a civilized electoral discourse free from accusations, slander, and fabrication.

Both parties committed to preventing vote wastage through the surplus vote arrangement. They also vowed to uphold principles of respectful discussion and dialogue, even amidst political and ideological differences. This commitment extends to all statements, debates, and media appearances, with a call for media professionals to act responsibly.

The Accord Committee, represented by its spokesperson Professor Mustafa Kabbah and Al-Tajammu's Deputy Secretary-General Yousef Tator, was present during the signing. The parties intend to submit a formal document detailing the agreement to the Central Elections Committee once the committee approves the submitted lists.
