Rachel Rabin, Sister of Former PM Yitzhak Rabin, Dies at 101
Rachel Rabin Yaakov, sister of the late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and a founder of Kibbutz Menara, passed away on Friday at the age of 101. President Isaac Herzog eulogized her, calling her life a "model of educational and public endeavor."
Rabin Yaakov was part of the pioneering group that established Kibbutz Menara over eighty years ago and fought to defend it during the 1948 War of Independence. Herzog recalled her role as a fighter protecting the kibbutz she helped build.
For decades, she was a leading figure in Menara and the Kibbutz Movement, educating many students who will remember her unique impact. Herzog noted that she deeply felt the pain of her brother Yitzhak Rabin's assassination but chose to continue her public service, earning numerous awards and honors.
Herzog extended his condolences to her family, loved ones, and kibbutz, wishing them no further sorrow.
