President Herzog Eulogizes Rachel Rabin-Yaakov, Sister of Yitzhak Rabin

Rabin-Yaakov was among the pioneering group that settled the rocky terrain and established Kibbutz Menara over eighty years ago. During the 1948 War of Independence, she fought as a combatant to defend the kibbutz she helped build. For decades, she was a leading figure in Menara and the kibbutz movement, educating numerous students who will remember her unique impact.
President Herzog also noted his personal connection to Rabin-Yaakov and her resilience in the face of personal tragedy. He acknowledged her deep pain over the assassination of her brother, Yitzhak Rabin, whom she loved and admired. Despite this loss, she continued her public service, earning many awards and honors.
