Israeli Football Association Predicts Issawi Frej Withdrawal from Chairmanship Race

The Israel Football Association is reportedly convinced that former Knesset member Issawi Frej will soon announce his withdrawal from the race for the association's chairmanship. The primary reason cited is the incumbent chairman, Shino Zuarz, securing nearly 90% of the votes within the Arab community, reportedly with the assistance of Abu Alaa and Basem Suleiman.

Frej had apparently been confident in his ability to garner significant support from the Arab community. However, current assessments within the association suggest his prospects are not promising. Frej needs to secure 130 votes by October 8th, but sources within the association indicate he currently has only 17.

Meanwhile, the Hapoel and Maccabi factions have reached agreements and are expected to run on a joint list. This development is seen as a success for the current leadership of the association. As part of this agreement, Keren Tzedek, chairman of the Hapoel faction, is expected to receive a higher position on the joint list.
