Boy, 12, Collapses in Ramat Gan Mall, Revived by First Responders
A 12-year-old boy collapsed and lost consciousness on Thursday while inside a store at the Ayalon Mall in Ramat Gan. Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics and EMTs responded to the scene and immediately began life-saving treatment.
MDA EMT Meir Azulai, who arrived within two minutes, found the boy unconscious, without breathing or a pulse. He initiated CPR and used a defibrillator to administer two electric shocks. Following the shocks, the boy's heart resumed beating, and he gradually regained consciousness.
An MDA intensive care unit team arrived and continued medical treatment, administering medication. Paramedic Shi Pinchas stated the boy was in a state of clouded consciousness upon their arrival. He was then transported to Schneider Children's Medical Center in stable condition and conscious.
"I saw a boy about 12 years old lying unconscious, without breathing and without a pulse," Azulai recounted. "I immediately began life-saving treatment and using the defibrillator I had, I gave him two electric shocks. After that, his heart started beating again and gradually he regained consciousness."
