Boy, 12, Collapses in Israeli Mall; Saved by Electric Shock

The story · English

A 12-year-old boy suddenly lost consciousness on Thursday afternoon in a store within a shopping center in central Israel. MDA paramedic Meir Azulai arrived on the scene within two minutes, finding the boy without a pulse or breathing, and immediately began emergency resuscitation efforts.

Using a defibrillator, Azulai administered two electric shocks to the boy, which successfully restored his heartbeat. The child gradually regained consciousness. A Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) team from MDA arrived to provide further medical assistance and transport the boy to the hospital.

Paramedic Shai Pinchas stated, "I saw the boy already in a dazed state of consciousness, and we immediately continued with medical treatment. We provided him with medication and evacuated him to Schneider Children's Medical Center, where his condition is stable and he is conscious."
