IDF Opens Key Route Near Western Border for Holiday Travelers

The IDF Spokesperson's Unit announced that Route 10, situated near Israel's western border in the Paran Regional Brigade sector, will be opened to hikers starting tomorrow, coinciding with the Jewish High Holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Sukkot. Access to the route does not require prior coordination, only the presentation of identification and registration at entry points.

During Rosh Hashanah, the route will be accessible on September 11th between Azoz and Har Harif from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM. On September 12th and 13th, the section between Metzpor Bar Lev and Checkpoint 10/12 will be open from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

For Sukkot, the segment between Azoz and Har Harif will be open on September 25th from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Subsequently, from September 26th to October 3rd, the area between Metzpor Bar Lev and Checkpoint 10/12 will be open from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Concurrently, the IDF emphasized that military training exercises in firing zones in the south and north of the country will continue as scheduled throughout the weekends. Consequently, these southern firing zones will remain closed to hikers. The military urged the public to act responsibly, adhere to guidelines, avoid restricted areas, and allow security forces to conduct their operational missions and training safely.
