London Stock Exchange Embraces Israeli Innovation Amid UK Sanctions

Two days after the British government intensified its policy towards Israel by imposing strict sanctions and restrictions, primarily targeting activities in Judea and Samaria, an Israeli delegation opened trading at the London Stock Exchange. The event, "Israel Innovation Day 2026," was displayed on all screens at the exchange, attracting significant interest from British business figures, companies, and investors.

The delegation comprised 22 Israeli companies showcasing cutting-edge technologies in cyber, fintech, cleantech, and artificial intelligence. Ten leading venture capital funds also presented innovative solutions to British attendees, including companies, investors, and venture capital firms. These innovations have the potential to revolutionize entire industries and address pressing contemporary challenges.

Roy Fischer, head of the Foreign Trade Administration at the Ministry of Economy, led the delegation, accompanied by the economic attaché and the Israeli Embassy in Britain, as well as the Export Institute. The event was hosted by London Stock Exchange CEO Julia Hoggett and a representative from the London City Council.

Fischer stated, "This day marks an important milestone in trade relations between Israel and Britain. The countries have cooperated for decades, and today's event sends a powerful message about the resilience of these relations despite political uncertainty." He added, "One thing is clear: British demand for Israeli innovation remains strong and continues to grow."

The trade volume between Israel and Britain currently exceeds 6 billion pounds. Fischer attributed this to the mutual trust between businesses and investors on both sides.
