Israel's Defense Minister Warns Iran, Greets Iranian Jews

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz extended Rosh Hashanah greetings to the Jewish community in Iran and the nation's population ahead of the Jewish New Year. He wished Iranian Jews a good and safe year, emphasizing their connection to Jewish history and their place in the hearts of Israelis. Katz also addressed the Iranian people, stating, "To the people of Iran I wish: may the next year meet you in Tehran, liberated from oppression and tyranny," according to the Israeli Ministry of Defense.

The minister also issued a warning to Iran's leadership, suggesting that economic pressure and significant strain could prompt Tehran to act against Israel. Katz asserted that any attack on Israel, regardless of its origin or location, would be met with a powerful response. He estimated such a strike would inflict severe, unprecedented damage on Iran, potentially targeting key energy infrastructure that supports Iran's military and terrorist operations against Israeli citizens.

Katz confirmed that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are on alert and prepared to execute their mission under the directives of the Prime Minister and himself. He stated that such a response would set Iran back decades and further destabilize the ayatollah regime, which he believes is despised by the Iranian people. The minister concluded by wishing the Jewish people worldwide a happy new year and the disappearance of enemies and ill-wishers.
