Israel Warns Iran of Devastating Response to Any Attack
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz issued an unusual statement Thursday, warning Iran of a severe response should it decide to attack Israel. Katz stated that due to Iran's economic pressures and internal stress, its leadership might consider acting against Israel. "Any attack on Israel, for any reason and in any place, will be met with a powerful response that will inflict severe, unprecedented damage on Iran," Katz declared.
Katz further threatened to target Iran's "central energy facilities, which provide resources and capabilities for the Iranian war and terror apparatus and harm the citizens of the State of Israel." He added that under Prime Minister Netanyahu's directive, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are on high alert and prepared. "Such a blow would set Iran back decades and further destabilize the Ayatollah regime, which the Iranian people so despise and long for its downfall," Katz asserted.
He concluded by wishing the Jewish people a happy new year and expressing hope that their enemies and those who wish them ill would be vanquished. This warning follows a joint statement by Prime Minister Netanyahu and Katz at Mount Hermon yesterday, where Netanyahu stated, "The main task is to defeat the terror regime in Iran. We are very close to it. We know that the entire axis will finally fall. We are committed to doing this and we will do it."
