Israel Warns Iran: Energy Facilities Targeted in Retaliation

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a stark warning to Iran's leadership on Thursday, stating that any attack on Israel would be met with a "devastating" response that would set the country back "decades."

Speaking ahead of the Jewish New Year, Katz first addressed the Jewish community in Iran, wishing them a "good and safe year" and affirming they are "part of a glorious Jewish history" and "will always be in our hearts."

He then turned his attention to the Iranian people, expressing hope for a "free Tehran next year, free from oppression and tyranny." Katz cautioned that Iran's leadership, facing economic hardship and intense pressure, might attempt to act against Israel.

"I repeat my warning to the Iranian leadership: Any attack on Israel, for any reason and from any location, will be met with a powerful response, one that will inflict severe damage on Iran that it has not yet sustained," Katz declared. He specified that Iran's "central energy facilities" would be among the targets in such a scenario.

Katz emphasized that Israeli forces are "alert and ready" to carry out such a mission, acting on the directives of the Prime Minister. He added that such a blow would "set Iran back decades and further destabilize the Ayatollah regime, which the Iranian people so despise and yearn for its downfall."

Katz concluded by wishing the Jewish people worldwide a happy new year, praying for the removal of "our enemies, our haters, and all who wish us ill."
