Israel's Defense Minister Warns Iran on Eve of Rosh Hashanah

Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a special message ahead of Rosh Hashanah, extending New Year greetings to the Jewish community in Iran while simultaneously issuing a stern warning to the Iranian regime. "As Rosh Hashanah approaches, I want to send a happy new year greeting to the Jewish community in Iran and wish them a good and safe year," Katz stated. "You are part of a glorious Jewish history and will always be in our hearts."

Katz then addressed the Iranian people, saying, "And to the Iranian people I wish: next year in a Tehran liberated from oppression and tyranny." He warned that Iran's economic distress and heavy pressure could lead its leadership to attempt to divert attention through actions against Israel.

"I reiterate my warning to the Iranian leadership: any attack on Israel, for any reason and from any location, will be met with a powerful response that will severely harm Iran in ways it has not yet experienced," Katz declared. He explicitly noted that Iran's key energy facilities could be among the targets for retaliation, explaining that these facilities provide the regime with resources and capabilities used for its war and terror apparatus and its activities against Israeli citizens.

Katz added that the IDF is on alert to carry out the mission, following instructions from the Prime Minister and himself. "Such a blow would set Iran back decades and further destabilize the ayatollah regime, which the Iranian people so despise and long for its downfall," he said. He concluded by wishing the Jewish people in Israel and around the world a happy new year, adding, "May our enemies, haters, and all who wish us ill, be removed."
