Israel Weather Forecast: Cooler Temperatures Ahead of Rosh Hashanah Holiday

Temperatures across Israel are expected to decrease slightly on Thursday, bringing conditions closer to seasonal averages in most regions. However, extreme heat is forecast for the Kinneret Valley, Jordan Valley, and the Arava desert. Heavy heat load is also anticipated in the southern Golan Heights, northern valleys, Lower Galilee, coastal plain, Dead Sea coast, and northern Negev.

On Friday, the eve of Rosh Hashanah, the weather will become pleasant after morning clouds dissipate. Temperatures will drop further, particularly in the coastal plain, the Shephelah region, and the Negev.

Saturday will see little change in temperatures. On Sunday morning, skies will be partly cloudy, becoming clear later in the day. Temperatures will rise slightly, becoming a bit higher than usual for this season, especially in the mountains and inland areas, with an increase in the heat load.

Highs for Thursday and Thursday night are predicted as follows: Jerusalem 20-30°C (68-86°F), Tel Aviv 23-32°C (73-90°F), Haifa 23-31°C (73-88°F), Safed 20-30°C (68-86°F), Katzrin 20-36°C (68-97°F), Tiberias 22-35°C (72-95°F), Nazareth 22-33°C (72-91°F), Afula 21-35°C (70-95°F), Beit She'an 24-38°C (75-100°F), Lod 22-33°C (72-91°F), Ashdod 23-32°C (73-90°F), Ein Gedi 27-36°C (81-97°F), Beersheba 20-34°C (68-93°F), Mitzpe Ramon 22-33°C (72-91°F), and Eilat 28-39°C (82-102°F).
