Elbit Systems' US Arm Rebrands as Twenty-Six Defense Amid Gaza War Protests

The American operational segment of Israeli defense contractor Elbit Systems has been rebranded as Twenty-Six Defense. The company stated the name change aims to emphasize its American identity, expand its U.S. manufacturing, and better serve the needs of the U.S. military, according to Defense News. The name "Twenty-Six" refers to iron's atomic number, 26, which the company says symbolizes strength, resilience, and durability.

"The launch of Twenty-Six Defense underscores our growth in the American market and strengthens our commitment to supporting American service members wherever their mission takes them," said company President and CEO Luke Savoie. The rebranding occurs amidst protests targeting Elbit's U.S. operations due to the parent company's involvement with the IDF during the Gaza war. Demonstrators have accused Elbit of complicity in "genocide" at company offices.

Defense News also noted the rebranding coincides with increased debate in the U.S. over support for Israel. Twenty-Six Defense is headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, employing approximately 3,300 people across ten states. Its product lines include night vision systems, aviation electronics, and surveillance and observation systems.

In July, Elbit's U.S. division secured contracts with U.S. Customs and Border Protection valued at over $370 million. Elbit Systems' technologies will continue to be offered to American clients under the Elbit America brand, which is now a subsidiary of Twenty-Six Defense.
