Elbit Systems US Arm Rebrands Amid Gaza Protests
The American branch of Elbit Systems, facing protests at its offices over alleged complicity in "genocide" in Gaza, has changed its name to Twenty-Six Defense. The number 26 refers to the atomic number of iron, symbolizing strength and resilience.
"This change underscores our growth in the American market and reinforces our commitment to supporting America's warriors wherever the mission takes them," stated the branch's CEO, Luke Savoie. The company, which employs 3,300 people at its Texas headquarters, supplies night vision systems to the U.S. Air Force and surveillance equipment to the Customs and Border Protection agency, among other products.
The rebranding comes as the company faces increasing scrutiny and demonstrations related to the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
