Trump Predicts Iran War End Post-Midterm Elections

U.S. President Donald Trump stated Wednesday that the conflict with Iran would conclude immediately following the upcoming midterm elections. "The war will end an hour after the elections," Trump told reporters before departing for a Republican conference in Texas. He also characterized Iran's objective as seeking nuclear weapons. Trump's remarks come amid recent escalations between Washington and Tehran, attributed in part to the U.S. administration's economic pressure policy.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced it had attacked a U.S. base in Jordan, with interceptions reportedly seen over Israel. Jordanian officials reported that 20 missiles were launched from Iran, 18 of which were intercepted, while two fell in unpopulated areas. A U.S. official confirmed to Fox News that all American soldiers in Jordan were accounted for and unharmed. U.S. Central Command confirmed it destroyed five Iranian oil tankers in response to Iran launching ballistic missiles toward a U.S. Navy warship. Iran claims the Jordan attack was retaliation for the tanker destruction. The Revolutionary Guard also claimed to have attacked two U.S. vessels and eight oil tankers in the Gulf in response to the U.S. strike on the tankers.
