Sydney Sweeney's Provocative Ad Features Israeli National Anthem
Actress Sydney Sweeney has released a new, provocative advertisement for the sports betting brand Novig, which has quickly gone viral. The ad features nudity and, notably, incorporates the Israeli national anthem, "Hatikvah," in the background. Within an hour of its release on Wednesday, the commercial garnered nearly five million views, approximately 250,000 likes, and thousands of comments.
The surprising inclusion of "Hatikvah" comes from a sample within a song by musician Anderson .Paak, which is played towards the end of the advertisement. Sweeney's connection to Israel is through her partner of about a year, producer Scooter Braun, who has been a prominent advocate for Israel since the start of the recent conflict. Sweeney herself has previously met and been photographed with former hostages Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or.
