Rina Matzliach Criticizes Amit Segal's Journalistic Approach
Media personality Rina Matzliach, formerly a news anchor for Channel 12, recently appeared on Channel 13's "Asanaheim" program, where she discussed her relationship with political commentator and host Amit Segal. Matzliach stated that she has not spoken with Segal for a long time, describing them as journalists of different types with little in common.
Matzliach expressed criticism of Segal's journalistic methods, asserting that she entered the field as a public servant, akin to a tax official doing her job. In contrast, she claimed, "He comes to advance his ideology. We are different." The full interview is scheduled to air on Thursday.
Matzliach announced her departure from the television program "Meet the Press," which she hosted for nine years, in July 2022. She officially retired from the news company in November due to illness. Following her retirement, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Tel Aviv Journalists Association for "exceptional journalistic work."
Since 2022, Matzliach has hosted a weekly program called "Novik and Matzliach" on "Kan Bet" with journalist Akiva Novik. Three years prior, she participated in the seventh VIP season of the cooking show "MKR The Winning Kitchen" with her niece Meitar, and they ultimately won the competition.
