Rina Matzliach Reveals Rift with Amit Segal Over Ideological Differences

Veteran Israeli journalist Rina Matzliach revealed that she no longer speaks with fellow journalist Amit Segal, citing fundamental professional and ideological differences. Matzliach, who left Channel 12 after approximately 30 years, made the comments during an interview with Omri Assenheim on Channel 13, scheduled to air on Saturday.

When asked when she last contacted Segal, Matzliach stated unequivocally, "I haven't spoken to Amit Segal in a long time." She explained that their divergence stems from their distinct views on the role of journalism and the integration of personal ideology into their work.

Matzliach described her own approach to journalism as that of a public servant, comparing herself to a tax official dedicated to her duties. In contrast, she characterized Segal's approach as driven by a desire to promote his own ideology. "He came to advance his ideology. We are different," she stated, emphasizing their contrasting professional philosophies and lack of significant common ground today.
