New Poll Shows Netanyahu Facing Challenges as Opposition Gains
A new Israeli Knesset election poll, the first since candidate lists were finalized, indicates significant shifts in the political landscape. The "Yashar!" party, led by Gadi Eisenkot, emerges as the largest party with 25 seats. The Likud party, headed by Benjamin Netanyahu, follows with 21 seats. Naftali Bennett's "Achva" party secures 14 seats, while Avigdor Lieberman's Yisrael Beiteinu and Yair Golan's Democrats each receive 9 seats.
Other parties polling at 7 seats include Itamar Ben-Gvir's Otzma Yehudit, United Torah Judaism under new chairman Yaakov Asher, Aryeh Deri's Shas, and the Joint List (Hadash-Ta'al and Balad). Bezalel Smotrich and Moshe Feiglin's United Religious Zionism and Identity list, and Mansour Abbas's Ra'am each garner 5 seats. Notably, Ofer Winter's "Amcha Yisrael" party passes the electoral threshold with 4 seats.
Conversely, Yoaz Hendel and Yaron Ze'ev's "HaMiluimnikim VeHaKalkalit" party fails to cross the threshold, receiving only 2.8% support. The poll suggests that a coalition including Netanyahu and Winter's party would total 51 seats. The "Zionist opposition bloc" is projected to win 57 seats, with Arab parties collectively obtaining 12 seats.
