Jerusalem Municipality Honors Outstanding Employees at Rosh Hashanah Ceremony

The Jerusalem Municipality held a festive Rosh Hashanah event on Monday, September 7th, to mark the beginning of the new Jewish year. The central focus of the celebration was the awarding of the "Director General's Award for Excellence for the year 5787" (2026-2027). The ceremony was attended by Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion, Municipal Director General Ariela Rejwan, deputy mayors, city council members, union representatives, senior management, department heads, employees, and the families of the award recipients. Artist Bar Tzabari led the artistic segment of the event.

The ceremony provided an opportunity to pause from daily work and highlight outstanding employees who are driving Jerusalem forward in various fields. This year's awards hold particular significance after three challenging years marked by complex security situations, during which municipal employees demonstrated exceptional dedication, public responsibility, professionalism, and commitment to the city and its residents.

Mayor Moshe Lion stated, "The employees of the Jerusalem Municipality are the beating heart of this city. In recent years, even in the face of complex challenges and a changing reality, we have seen how our human capital stands at the forefront of action with professionalism, sensitivity, and great responsibility. The outstanding individuals we honor today are the foundation for Jerusalem's growth, innovation, and prosperity. Director General Ariela Rejwan added, "Excellence is not just a result, it is first and foremost a path, a path of courage to initiate, take responsibility, improve and be improved, and never settle for the status quo.
