Hapoel Jerusalem officially kicked off their 2026/27 season with a resounding 110-77 victory over Maccabi Ashdod. Key players Kenny Lofton Jr., David Roddy, and Shai Miltone were instrumental in the win.

Following the game, Hapoel Jerusalem's coach, Sasa Obradovic, emphasized the team's defensive intensity as the turning point. He acknowledged that while Ashdod surprised them in the first quarter, raising their defensive pressure allowed them to control the game. Obradovic also noted the ongoing process of integrating new players like Jalen Smith, Eitan Burt, and Yotam Hanochi, stressing the need for patience to build chemistry.
