Highway 2 Southbound Closed Near Netanya Overnight for Roadwork
Highway 2 southbound will be closed between the Netanya Interchange and the Gesher HaShalom Interchange in Netanya from midnight Tuesday, September 8, 2026, until 5:00 AM Wednesday. The closure is necessary for the installation of signage as part of the "Fast Lanes" project.
During the closure, southbound traffic entering from the Netanya Interchange will be diverted to Herzl Street and then to Ben Tzvi Boulevard before rejoining Highway 2 at the Gesher HaShalom Interchange. However, the entrance to Highway 2 southbound from the Gesher HaShalom Interchange will remain open.
Public transportation routes and station locations in the area will be altered due to the roadwork. Passengers are advised to check for updates via the 'Kol Kav' hotline or public transport apps.
The roadwork is coordinated with the Israel Police and is scheduled for nighttime hours to minimize disruption to drivers. Motorists are recommended to use navigation apps like Waze to find alternative routes.
