Major Highway South of Tel Aviv to Close Overnight for Roadwork

Drivers in Israel's central Gush Dan region should prepare for overnight traffic disruptions as Highway 2, a major north-south artery, will be temporarily closed. The closure is scheduled to take place between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, from midnight until 5:00 AM.

During this period, Highway 2 will be shut to southbound traffic between the Netanya interchange and the Gesher HaShalom interchange in Netanya. The entrance to Highway 2 southbound from the Netanya interchange will also be closed. Traffic will be rerouted via Herzl Street and Ben Tzvi Boulevard until the Gesher HaShalom interchange. The entrance to Highway 2 southbound from the Gesher HaShalom interchange will remain open.

The work involves lifting signage onto overhead gantries as part of the "Fast Lanes" project, managed by Netivei Ayalon. The closures are coordinated with the police and conducted during nighttime hours to minimize disruption.

Public transportation users are also advised to expect changes to bus routes and station locations. Passengers are recommended to check public transport apps or call the "Kol Kav" hotline at 8787 for updates.

Authorities recommend that drivers check their routes in advance and use navigation apps like Waze to stay informed about the closures and find alternative routes.
