Israeli Artists and Creators Honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards

The Union of Israeli Artists (AMI) has announced its 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award recipients, recognizing prominent figures in music, acting, theater, and dance for their significant contributions to Israeli culture. Among the honorees are veteran singer Nurit Galron, comedians Eli Yatzpan and Shmuel Vilozni, and singer Itzik Kala.

In the music category, alongside Galron and Kala, the awards will be presented to Rami Danuch of "Tzlilei Ha'oud," the duo "Reim" (Yisrael Gotsdiner and Beni Rosenbaum), and Gini Rabin for her extensive work in choral singing and leading musical ensembles. Kala is noted as one of the last active founders of Israeli Mizrahi music.

For acting and theater, Lifetime Achievement Awards will be given to veteran actor and comedian Shmuel Vilozni, prominent comedian and stage personality Eli Yatzpan, and theater creator Shifra Milstein. In dance, the awards will go to Professor Amir Kolban, founder and artistic director of the Kolban Dance Company, and Dr. Rena Y. Badash, a choreographer, senior dance instructor, and interdisciplinary performance researcher.

Additionally, a Breakthrough Artist Award will be presented to young singer and creator Alma Gov, and a Special Contribution to Culture Award will be given to Arie Yamini, the outgoing CEO of the Petah Tikva Cultural Hall. The award ceremony is scheduled for December 23rd and will be hosted by actor Dan Shapira at the local cultural hall.
