Ashlag Rebbe Leads Followers on Spiritual Pilgrimage to Northern Israel

The Grand Rebbe of Ashlag, Rabbi Shlomo Eliezer of Bnei Heichala, led a spiritual pilgrimage with his followers to northern Israel, visiting the tombs of revered sages. The journey included prayers at the tomb of Rabbi Meir Baal HaNess in Tiberias and the tomb of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai in Meron.

This annual trip, traditionally held on the 25th of Elul, the day of the world's creation, was moved up this year. The pilgrimage commenced with the afternoon prayer at Rabbi Meir Baal HaNess's tomb, followed by recitations of Psalms and a sermon by the Rebbe focusing on spiritual preparation for the High Holy Days. As evening fell, the group held the evening prayer, transitioning into joyous dancing and singing in anticipation of the High Holy Days.

The pilgrimage then proceeded to Meron, where participants recited Psalms and the "13 Attributes of Mercy" within the tomb of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai. The Rebbe conducted a special "tish" (a Hasidic gathering with prayer and song) inside the tomb, sharing blessings and distributing wine. During the tish, the Rebbe emphasized the importance of developing sensitivity towards others and drawing fellow Jews closer, particularly during the period of mercy and forgiveness.

He also spoke about the profound significance of studying the Zohar, the foundational text of Kabbalah, highlighting the hidden treasures and secrets of the Torah contained within its words. After several hours of prayer, song, and spiritual elevation, the Rebbe returned to his residence in Bnei Brak.
