Amshinov Rebbe Leads Emotional Pilgrimage to Ancestor's Tomb in Tiberias

On Monday morning, hundreds of Amshinov Hasidim from across Israel gathered at the ancient cemetery in Tiberias to honor the grave of the Amshinov Rebbe's grandfather, Rabbi Shimon Shalom of Amshinov, who passed away about 72 years ago in the United States and was later reburied in Tiberias. The event began early when the current Amshinov Rebbe performed the Havdalah ceremony just after Shabbat ended, then traveled to Tiberias, arriving around 6:00 a.m.

Upon arrival, the Rebbe immediately approached his grandfather's gravesite and recited Psalms in a slow, intense manner, standing almost continuously until near noon despite the oppressive 42-degree Celsius heat. The sight deeply moved the assembled crowd, who witnessed the Rebbe's remarkable endurance and devotion. After the Psalms, hundreds of followers passed by the grave in an orderly fashion to mention their names and those of their families for blessings and salvation.

Throughout the day, prayer minyanim and Torah readings took place at the nearby historic "Chesed LeAvraham Kalisk" synagogue, which also hosted a special hospitality setup offering refreshments to the visitors. The Amshinov community expressed profound gratitude to the organizers and Rabbi Moshe Chaim Schneider, head of the Chesed LeAvraham Kalisk institutions in Tiberias, for providing spiritual and material support to the hundreds of Hasidim who participated in the pilgrimage.
