Amshinov Rebbe Leads Early Morning Ceremony at Ancestral Tomb in Tiberias

On Monday evening, a moving and elevated gathering took place at the ancient cemetery in Tiberias, where hundreds of Amshinov Hasidim from across Israel came to visit the holy tomb of the Amshinov Rebbe's grandfather, Rabbi Shimon Shalom of Amshinov, who passed away about 72 years ago in the United States. His remains were later brought by followers for burial in the section of the Baal Shem Tov's disciples in Tiberias.

The event began early Monday morning when the Amshinov Rebbe, known for ending Shabbat late, performed the Havdalah ceremony just after midnight. He then traveled to Tiberias, arriving around 6:00 a.m., where hundreds of Hasidim awaited him, having arrived by private cars and organized buses from Jerusalem, Beitar Illit, and other Hasidic communities.

Upon arrival, the Rebbe approached his grandfather's grave and recited Psalms with remarkable calmness and his unique, stirring style, standing almost continuously until near noon despite the intense 42-degree Celsius heat. The sight deeply moved the assembled crowd.

After the Psalms, hundreds of followers passed by the grave in an orderly fashion to mention their names and those of their families for blessings and salvation. Concurrently, prayer services and Torah readings were held at the nearby historic "Chesed LeAvraham Kalisk" synagogue, which also hosted a special hospitality setup offering refreshments to the visitors.

The Amshinov Hasidic community expressed profound gratitude to the organizers and Rabbi Moshe Chaim Schneider, head of the Chesed LeAvraham Kalisk institutions in Tiberias, for providing spiritual and physical support to the hundreds of Hasidim who participated in the event.
