Fuel Retailer Dor Alon Suspects $11 Million Embezzlement by Employees
Israeli fuel company Dor Alon has announced suspicions of a large-scale embezzlement scheme involving its employees, potentially costing the company approximately 40 million shekels (about $11 million USD). The company disclosed this information in a statement to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
Preliminary findings suggest that company employees are responsible for the theft, which is believed to have occurred primarily over the past two years across several of Dor Alon's gas station complexes. In response to these suspicions, Dor Alon has engaged an external investigative firm and filed a formal complaint with the Israel Police.
The company is currently assessing the financial impact of the alleged embezzlement, including potential necessary adjustments to its accounting records. Dor Alon has also stated that it holds a special insurance policy covering fraud and embezzlement.
