Beitar Jerusalem Plans Yarin Levi Return Amidst Team Struggles

Beitar Jerusalem is reportedly planning a move to bring back midfielder Yarin Levi, aiming to bolster their squad after a recent statement by Almog Cohen. The club has devised a potential strategy to propose to Maccabi Haifa, Levi's current team. Following a difficult start to the season, Beitar secured their first win on Saturday, a 1-0 victory over Bnei Sakhnin. The win eased pressure on the team, with players like Li'el Darai and Eugene Ansah showing improved performances.

Midfielder Omer Atzili, who appeared frustrated during his substitution, explained his reaction was due to an uncharacteristic missed opportunity in the first half and perceived incorrect calls by referee Oral Greenberg. With the team's situation stabilizing, Beitar intends to strengthen by acquiring one or two new players, including a foreign player and potentially Levi.

Almog Cohen confirmed efforts are underway to re-sign Levi, citing delays in acquiring a dominant foreign midfielder and Levi's current limited role at Maccabi Haifa. The initiative to bring Levi back to Teddy Stadium, which began last week, is being accelerated. Levi has expressed a desire to return, and Beitar owner Barak Abramov, awaiting approval from Maccabi Haifa owner Yaakov Shahar, is prepared to negotiate. If Maccabi Haifa agrees to the transfer, Beitar is expected to offer a percentage of future sales to reduce Levi's transfer fee.
