Beitar Jerusalem Plans Yarin Levi Return Amidst Team Struggles

Beitar Jerusalem is reportedly planning a move to bring back midfielder Yarin Levi, aiming to bolster their squad after a difficult start to the season. The club is considering a proposal to Maccabi Haifa, Levi's current team, to facilitate the transfer. This effort comes after a recent 0-1 victory over Bnei Sakhnin, which provided some relief following a poor opening to their campaign. The win saw improved performances from players like Li'el Deri and Eugene Ansah, with Almog Cohen praising the team's attitude and ability to manage pre-game tension.

Midfielder Omer Atzili, who appeared frustrated during his substitution, explained his reaction stemmed from an uncharacteristic missed opportunity in the first half and perceived incorrect calls by referee Oral Greenberg. With the team's situation stabilizing, Beitar aims to strengthen by acquiring one or two new players, potentially including a foreign player and Levi.

Almog Cohen confirmed the club's attempt to re-sign Levi, citing delays in acquiring a dominant foreign midfielder and Levi's current limited role at Maccabi Haifa. The initiative to bring Levi back to Teddy Stadium, which began last week, is being accelerated. Levi has expressed a desire to return, and Beitar's owner, Barak Abramov, is awaiting approval from Yaakov Shahar of Maccabi Haifa to negotiate the transfer.

If Maccabi Haifa grants Levi permission to move, Beitar is expected to offer a percentage of future transfer fees to reduce the acquisition cost. The club hopes this strategy will help secure Levi's return and improve their midfield options.
