Maccabi Tel Aviv Dominates, Coach Ignores Criticism

Maccabi Tel Aviv secured a resounding 4-1 victory over Hapoel Be'er Sheva at Turner Stadium, extending their perfect start to the season with three wins from three games and an impressive 12 goals scored. The team is heading into next week's derby in peak form.

Following the match, coach Kenny Miller expressed satisfaction with the team's performance, stating, "We played really well, we knew who we were playing against, we showed attacking power. We could have scored five or six goals in the second half. We played away against a very good team, but when you get these chances, we could have come away with more." He acknowledged a difficult period after a red card but highlighted the team's strong second-half resurgence. "We conceded after the red card, we tried to force passes, but we woke up in the second half. We gave everything, there's a very good feeling after this game."

When questioned about criticism regarding the team's failure to advance in European competition, Miller dismissed the remarks. "I don't pay attention to what people say," he responded. "We started very strong even when we didn't have the players we worked to bring in. We are still playing well, still scoring. We trust the players and the team and you can see it."

Miller also discussed the arrival of James Tavernier, noting, "We talked a lot in recent weeks, he wanted to try something new, he hadn't played abroad." He added, "The club worked very hard for this to happen. We will see him better in the coming weeks. There is a long way to go, we always want to be the best."

Looking ahead to the derby against Hapoel Tel Aviv, Miller anticipates a challenging encounter. "Hapoel Tel Aviv is a good team, it will be a tough game. We received a difficult draw at the start of the season, but now we will rest and prepare for a big derby."
