Israel Continues Gaza Strikes Amid Ceasefire Violations, Civilian Hardship

Israeli forces continued shelling and firing in various parts of the Gaza Strip on Monday, marking ongoing violations of a ceasefire agreement. The military also reportedly demolished homes and targeted locations housing displaced people, resulting in new civilian casualties. Local sources reported a Palestinian man was injured by Israeli gunfire from naval vessels off the coast of Gaza City. Additionally, two displaced individuals were wounded by Israeli military vehicles near the Al-Qastal towers east of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

Heavy fire was observed in southern Gaza, particularly towards Khan Younis. Israeli military vehicles directed intense fire towards the eastern areas of Khan Younis, accompanied by artillery shelling in the city's south. A drone dropped explosive bombs in the Al-Maslakh area. Gaza City also experienced an aerial escalation, with warplanes conducting three raids on the Al-Tuffah neighborhood northeast of the city and two raids on eastern areas. Another strike targeted the Al-Sakhra complex east of the city.

Intense shooting also occurred in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, where Israeli tanks fired heavily towards western areas. The gunfire extended to areas northwest of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip. The area around the Al-Sinafour intersection east of Al-Tuffah was also subjected to heavy shelling and gunfire.

The Civil Defense reported that fishermen Saeed Mohammed Abu Riyala, 16, and Ibrahim Azzam Bakr, 22, were injured by Israeli naval gunfire while at sea off Gaza City. These Israeli violations of the ceasefire have continued for 333 consecutive days, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis for civilians and the displaced due to the ongoing blockade and restrictions.

These attacks have raised growing concerns about the fragility of the ceasefire, especially given the lack of clear mechanisms to ensure adherence and protect civilians. The developments come despite an announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump on July 31, 2026, regarding a new agreement for the second phase of a roadmap for Gaza, which had raised hopes for more stable de-escalation.

Separately, Palestinian factions expressed concern over escalating internal family disputes, accompanied by gunfire, assaults, and intimidation of citizens, leading to casualties. They condemned the use of weapons in internal conflicts and called for accountability. The factions also urged the relevant authorities to expedite the implementation of final judicial rulings, including death sentences, asserting that their enforcement would bolster judicial authority and the rule of law.
