Israeli Forces Continue Strikes, Kill More Militants in Gaza Amid Rising Civilian Hardship

Israeli military forces continued their offensive in the Gaza Strip overnight, targeting and eliminating additional militants linked to the October 7 attacks. Four terror sites were struck across Gaza as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) persistently degrade Hamas's operational capabilities. Among those killed was a militant involved in the abduction of the bodies of Lt. Col. Asaf Hamami and two other soldiers.

The military campaign has increasingly confined Gaza residents to roughly 30 percent of the territory, as Israeli forces advance the so-called "yellow cubes," symbolic markers delineating Israeli-controlled areas from Hamas-controlled zones. This has forced many Gazans to evacuate their homes, exacerbating already dire conditions.

Residents in Gaza's tent encampments have voiced growing complaints about overcrowding, extreme heat, and infestations of rodents and fleas. Despite attempts by Gaza activists last month to organize protests against Hamas, these efforts failed, though further demonstrations are expected due to Hamas's refusal to disarm or provide solutions to the population's hardships.

Daily, approximately 600 trucks deliver aid and goods into Gaza, and footage shows some markets, businesses, and entertainment venues, particularly in less damaged areas like Deir al-Balah and Gaza City, still operating. Nevertheless, the combination of destruction, civilian protests, and ongoing military pressure underscores the complexity of Gaza's situation, with no end to the conflict in sight.
