IDF Resumes Targeted Operations Against October 7 Attackers in Gaza
Following the return of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from the United States, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have resumed targeted operations against militants involved in the October 7 attacks. Security sources revealed that the political echelon had initially blocked at least four requests for such operations, but approval was eventually granted. The IDF confirmed two additional targeted killings, emphasizing that the targets posed direct threats to Israeli forces.
Shortly after, the IDF and the Shin Bet conducted a strike in the Darg Tufah area of the Gaza Strip, targeting a Hamas commander and several other militants. According to the IDF spokesperson, these militants were planning terrorist attacks against Israeli forces operating in Gaza. Palestinian reports indicate that 11 people were killed in the two strikes.
This renewed campaign marks a significant escalation in Israel's efforts to neutralize threats from Gaza following the deadly attacks on October 7. The IDF continues to focus on preventing further attacks by eliminating key militant figures in the region.
