IDF Strikes Hezbollah Site in Southern Lebanon After Drone Attack
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a strike on a Hezbollah facility in the Nabatieh district of southern Lebanon on Monday, September 7, 2026. The target was located in the village of Dir az-Zahra. Prior to the strike, Israeli forces issued warnings for residents of nearby buildings to evacuate immediately and move at least 300 meters away.
The IDF stated that the strike was a response to a Hezbollah drone launch targeting Israeli soldiers. Lebanese television channel Al Mayadeen, which is associated with Hezbollah, also reported the strike on Dir az-Zahra.
Information regarding casualties from this specific strike was not immediately available. However, Lebanese sources also reported that the IDF carried out airstrikes on a building in Kfar Rumman, southern Lebanon, which resulted in casualties, and later targeted a vehicle in the same area. Al Mayadeen reported two killed and several wounded in strikes in the villages of Dir az-Zahra and Rumman within the Nabatieh district.
