IDF Strikes Hezbollah Command Center in Former Lebanese Hospital

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Sunday that it targeted Hezbollah operatives and infrastructure in southern Lebanon, including a command center established within a structure previously used as a hospital. The strikes were a response to Hezbollah launching two explosive drones toward IDF forces in the security zone in southern Lebanon.

According to the IDF spokesperson, the targets were attacked to neutralize an immediate threat, stating that "terrorists advanced terror plots against IDF forces and Israeli civilians from within." The IDF further clarified that "Hezbollah uses medical infrastructure to advance terror plots" and that "precautionary measures were taken to minimize expected civilian harm" before the attacks.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported approximately four deaths and twenty injuries resulting from the Israeli strikes on Sunday morning. Among the deceased was Ibrahim Ghaddar, who some sources identified as a Hezbollah commander.

The IDF's operation comes amid ongoing tensions and follows a recent IDF operation to clear the Al-Tahir ridge. The report also briefly mentions concerns for the safety of a Lebanese minister who opposes Hezbollah, fearing he might be harmed.
