Elderly Man Dies After Falling While Building Sukkah in Efrat
An 84-year-old man died on Sunday after falling from a height while constructing a sukkah on his balcony in Efrat. Emergency medical services (Magen David Adom) were called to the scene on Matityahu Street in the Hazait neighborhood but pronounced him dead at the location. Volunteer ZAKA (Disaster Victim Identification) teams from the Gush Etzion region, including units from Efrat and Beitar Illit, arrived to handle the body and collect evidence. ZAKA stated that their work facilitated the release of the deceased for burial. Eyal Ehrenstam, ZAKA's Gush Etzion commander, described the incident as "a difficult event," confirming the man fell while building the sukkah on his balcony.
